Hayley Thompson - Creative Director

Hayley Thompson is founder and creative director of Brooklyn Girl Music, the home of soulful and uplifting songwriting and music production. A Brooklyn, NY native, Hayley began studying classical piano at the age of four and served as the accompanist and musical director of various choirs in high school and college. Over the years, she has become a familiar part of the New York songwriting community. She was also a songwriter for the Songs of Love Foundation , a non-profit organization dedicated to providing personalized songs for chronically and terminally ill children and young adults. Hayley's music includes both vocal and instrumental works ranging from Southern-influenced soul to deep house dance music. As part of ShakeLoose Productions with co-writer Kamau Imarogbe Grantham, Hayley was responsible for several underground dance music favorites. More recently, she has received attention for her radio-friendly contemporary R&B tunes. Her song "On These City Blocks" won an honorable mention in the 2007 11th Annual Unisong International Songwriting Contest. Hayley's recent works, "Keep On Going" and "Revival" have been performed live by the acclaimed Sacred Center of New York Gospel Choir.

"Hayley has the perfect blend of talent, skill, creativity and innovation...she brings several gifts to the table, such as her arranging and prolific song writing skills, and certainly, these gifts provided her with an intuitive edge and an innate ability to transform a good song into a great song."
